I think it would be a better match: Congressmen tend to be old and staggeringly incompetent; everyone in the middle east just seems to be completely insane. Plus, she's either a raving anti-Semite or (in her own words) a "wannabe Jew", so she'll fit in nicely regardless of how she sorts that one out.
